Unspoken: Austin’s Relationship + Dating Conference is a one-day gathering for young adults (20-39) single or dating, who are tired of surface-level advice and ready for honest conversations about relationships and love that are never talked about out loud.
We’re cutting through clichés to talk about what relationships actually look like in real life: singleness, dating, breakups, attraction, boundaries, intentionality, and everything in between. Whether you’re single or dating Unspoken creates space for candid teaching, open dialogue, and biblical clarity around questions many people are already asking but rarely say out loud.
Throughout the day, attendees will hear from trusted voices who understand the realities of modern dating and are committed to pointing young adults back to God’s design for relationships. From heart-level vision to practical wisdom, each session is designed to challenge assumptions, encourage honesty, and help participants love well while being shaped by Jesus in the process.
Unspoken isn’t about quick fixes or formulas, it’s about forming healthier perspectives, deeper faith, and relationships that reflect something bigger (and better) than the versions we’ve settled for.

Jonathan “JP” Pokluda is the Lead Pastor of Harris Creek Baptist Church in Waco, TX. He was formerly the leader of The Porch in Dallas, TX, which grew to be the largest weekly young adult gathering of its kind in the country. JP didn’t come to understand the grace of the Gospel until his early twenties after being involved in different denominational churches his entire life. This ignited a desire in him to inspire young adults to radically follow Jesus Christ and unleash them to change the world. JP's partner in ministry is Monica, his wife of seventeen years, and together they disciple their children Presley, Finley, and Weston.
His best-selling book, Welcome to Adulting, offers millennials a road map to navigating faith, finding a spouse, finances, and the future. Following the release of Welcome to Adulting, he wrote Welcome to Adulting: Survival Guide, which provides a 42-day guide to surviving adulthood. JP’s most recent release, Outdated, explains God’s purpose for singleness, dating, and marriage while covering why, who, and how you should date.

Matt Thigpen is the Young Adult Pastor at Austin Ridge Bible Church, where he leads AustinCity Young Adults, a thriving community of men and women ages 23–39. For the past five years, hundreds of young adults have gathered every Tuesday night for worship, teaching, and authentic community centered on following Jesus in real life—including relationships, dating, and calling.
A Dallas native and proud “PK” (pastor’s kid), Matt experienced a life-changing encounter with Jesus as a high school student at summer camp. Since then, his passion has been helping young adults navigate faith in the middle of real questions, real tension, and real relationships. He brings honesty, humor, and biblical clarity to conversations many people are already having—but rarely out loud.
Matt met his wife, Sarah, while they both worked at James Avery Jewelry, and together they’re raising three daughters: Macie, Ellie, and Sadie. When he’s not pastoring or teaching, you’ll find him making his girls laugh, eating elite desserts, reading books about Jesus, or enjoying a good stand-up comedy set. Matt’s heartbeat is simple: to see young adults fall deeply in love with Jesus and live that out in every area of life—including how they date and love.
